Safety & Security
At Little Rascals, the safety, wellbeing and protection of every child in our care is one of our highest priorities. We are committed to creating a secure, supervised and nurturing environment where children can learn, play and grow with confidence in a safe and caring setting every day.
Our school has controlled access gates, CCTV monitoring across key areas of the school, and dedicated staff who help ensure the safety and supervision of all children at all times. In line with POPIA regulations, our camera systems are used strictly for school security and operational purposes, and footage is not accessible to parents or the public in order to protect the privacy of all children and families.
Controlled Access & Secure Premises
Our school premises are fully access controlled, and all gates remain locked throughout the day to help ensure the safety of our learners and staff. Entry to the school is monitored and managed to prevent unauthorised access to the property.
CCTV Camera Monitoring
For additional safety and security, Little Rascals has 32 CCTV cameras installed throughout the school premises. Cameras are positioned in key areas including:
These cameras assist us in maintaining a safe environment, monitoring daily operations, supporting incident investigations when necessary, and helping ensure that school policies and safety procedures are followed at all times.
Privacy & POPIA Compliance
While CCTV monitoring forms part of our safety measures, all footage is managed in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
For the privacy and protection of all children, parents do not have direct access to the school’s camera system or recorded footage. Camera footage may contain images of multiple children, staff members and visitors, and therefore cannot be shared publicly or with individual parents except where legally required.
